0 minutes: Borowski kicks off to Frings. Good passing and movement, as Frings passes short to Jensen. Good skills by Jensen as he controls the ball and takes on his man. Jensen cuts inside and pulls the cross square, towards Fritz. Fritz tries to take on Papac, but Papac stands his ground and makes a clean tackle. Papac, in possession, distributes the ball to Ferguson. Ferguson with the ball and looking comfortable. He sees the run of Burke and plays a slide-rule pass through the crowded defence. Burke comes forward with the ball. He's got a yard of space down the flank and hits a looping cross into the area, trying to pick out Beasley. Beasley pulls down the cross, sets his sights, but drags his shot just wide.

4 minutes: Seeing nothing else on, Wiese plays the goal kick short to Jensen. Jensen in possession. Cute turn, as he tries to beat his marker. Jensen fails to control it cleanly and Hutton makes that loose ball his. He looks up and, seeing nothing on, plays it simple to Cort. Good passing and movement, as Cort passes short to Ferguson. Ferguson with the ball at-feet, as he looks to take-on his man. Tackle by Borowski on Ferguson. He spots a bit of space and attempts to embark on a run. Ferguson tussles with Borowski. Ferguson with the ball and, under pressure, he tries a snap-shot. The ball deflects off Borowski, straight into the path of the lurking Saganowski! Saganowski with the ball. He has a go at Naldo, but Naldo makes the tackle, at the expense of a corner. The crowd start chanting - they think something might result from this move!

8 minutes: Good delivery, as Burke picks out Saganowski from the corner. It ricochets around the box, before Saganowski eventually stabs it just wide.

9 minutes: Wiese decides to play possession football, passing the goal kick short to Pasanen. Poor choice of pass, as Pasanen plays it short to a tightly-marked Frings. Burke runs on to the ball. He has a go at the defender, pushing the ball past him and then running on to it. Corluka makes a fine tackle on Burke, high up the pitch. He spots movement and tries an early cross, towards Borowski. Borowski strains those neck muscles to get to the cross, but can't quite direct his header as it sails over the bar. His team mate was certainly better placed a yard or two behind Borowski and is castigating Borowski for wasting the chance. Perhaps he didn't hear his shout?

12 minutes: Carroll restarts play by tapping it short to Hutton. Poor choice of pass, as Hutton plays it short to a tightly-marked Ferguson. Beasley attempts to connect with the through-ball played by Ferguson. Pasanen reads the play well, making the tackle then passing short to Borowski. Seeing nothing else on, Borowski decides to keep possession by playing it simply to Frings. Frings finds Fritz with a simple pass. Fritz picks up the ball and, seeing the run of Klasnic, attempts to play him in. Good block tackle, as Piqué comes across to dispossess Klasnic. The ball breaks towards Papac. Direct football, as Papac decides to try and hit McCulloch early. McCulloch vs Naldo. Naldo climbs well, heading the ball short to Pasanen. Poor choice of pass, as Pasanen plays it short to a tightly-marked Frings. Good passing and movement, as Frings passes short to Jensen. Jensen with the ball as he attempts to take it past the defender. Jensen with the ball and he tries to take on Hutton. Hutton stands his ground, as the ball rolls over the line, off his shin, for a throw-in.

19 minutes: Short throw taken by Jensen to Borowski. Good passing and movement, as Borowski passes short to Fritz. Defenders are back in numbers. Fritz with the ball - he takes a speculative shot from just outside of the penalty area. Carroll seems to react slowly and can't quite get across the goal in time, as the ball sails into the net - GOAL! Maybe Carroll was unsighted?

21 minutes: Li kicks off to Ferguson. Good passing and movement, as Ferguson passes short to Hutton. Hutton makes a bit of space. He decides to go long, aiming for Saganowski. Saganowski does well in the air. He controls the ball and attempts to feed McCulloch. McCulloch with only Wiese to beat but he somehow contrives to send it well wide - that's an embarassing miss and his manager is apopletic with fury at such a casual strike!

23 minutes: Wiese thumps the goal kick long, towards the head of Jensen. Hutton goes through the back of Jensen to get the ball. The referee blows for a foul, but there's no card, which leaves Jensen's team mates incredulous - the crowd are going nuts too! Jensen is receiving some on-field treatment by the physio. Play is restarted with a free kick in a dangerous area.

24 minutes: There are a number of people gathered around this free kick. His team mate runs over the ball, leaving it for Naldo, who whips it up and down over the wall and past a flat-footed Carroll - GOAL! That's straight off the training ground!

25 minutes: Li kicks off to Burke. Burke on to Li. Li keeps play ticking over by moving the ball simply to Burke. Burke picks it up. He plays a long pass, towards McCulloch, into the space in front of him. Alert play by Mertesacker, as he makes a good tackle. Simple pass to Borowski. Cross by Borowski, in the vague direction of Klasnic. Piqué with the ball, but Klasnic hasn't finished yet. Under pressure, Piqué tries to keep it simple, but the pass is not the best. Fine interception by Corluka, who tries a deep cross, aimed at Borowski. Ferguson reads the game well and takes the ball off Borowski. He keeps it simple and plays the short pass to Li. Misplaced pass by Li as it rolls out for a throw-in.

30 minutes: Short throw taken by Frings to Corluka. The ball is with Corluka. Corluka with the cross, but it's too deep and is easily claimed by Carroll. Not what Corluka was looking for. Strong play by Carroll, under pressure from Corluka. Corluka isn't about to give up, so Carroll pumps it long, towards Saganowski. Saganowski controls the ball and makes a neat turn beyond Mertesacker. He seems a little surprised that Mertesacker was the last man but makes the most of his opportunity by drawing the goalkeeper, before slipping the ball into the bottom corner - GOAL! That's Long Ball Football!

32 minutes: Borowski kicks off to Pasanen. Pasanen keeps play ticking over by moving the ball simply to Frings. Possession football, as Frings shifts it to Corluka. Corluka keeps it simple, passing to Frings. Possession quickly passed-on from Frings to Fritz. Misplaced pass by Fritz as it rolls out for a throw-in.

35 minutes: Papac winds up for a long throw-in. He launches it towards Beasley. Fractionally mis-timed tackle, as Beasley goes down under pressure from Pasanen. This is a promising position for a free kick, as the ref puts his whistle to his lips.

36 minutes: The ball is tapped wide for Ferguson. He's at an angle but with a clear sight of goal. Oooh - that shot was pulled just wide of the post!

36 minutes: Wiese lumps the ball upfield, towards Jensen. Hutton gets a foot in, then shrugs off the attention of Jensen, before playing it short to Ferguson. Ferguson has a quick look-up, before trying to slip-in Saganowski with a incisive pass. Naldo with the ball, but Saganowski hasn't finished yet. Under pressure, Naldo tries to keep it simple, but the pass is not the best. Fritz closed-down by Papac. Papac emerges with the ball. He's some distance out but decides to try his luck. The shot sails over the bar. It was worth a go.

39 minutes: Wiese with the big kick, deep into the opposition half. Jensen tries to take on Hutton, but Hutton stands his ground and makes a clean tackle. Hutton, in possession, distributes the ball to Li. Snap-shot by Li and it rattles off the top of the crossbar and over - unlucky!

40 minutes: Klasnic receives the short goal kick from Wiese. Klasnic stretches out a boot to try to get to the ball but it remains just out of reach, although he does clip his opponents heels. That'll be a free kick.

41 minutes: Hutton boots the free kick up the park, at Beasley. Alert play by Naldo, as he makes a good tackle. Simple pass to Pasanen. Pasanen with ball-at-feet. He tries to switch the point-of-attack by spreading play wide, but his team mate can't quite get to it. Throw-in.

43 minutes: Beasley winds up for a long throw-in. He launches it towards Saganowski. Mertesacker, with a tackle on Saganowski. Mertesacker keeps play moving, playing it short to Frings. Frings makes a simple lay-off to Jensen. Jensen with the ball at-feet, as he looks to take-on his man. Fine play by Jensen, as he drives forwards, then tosses a cross into the mixer, in the general direction of Kanu. Good tracking-back by Piqué, as he puts the cross behind for a corner.
